Cash rent the tenant agrees to
When a landlord records rent paid in cash, the tenant gets a text: did you pay this? A “no” is flagged, so cash is fair for both sides.
Quotes, photos, approval
Tenants report a problem with photos. The landlord gets a quote and approves it — or lets the managing agent approve jobs up to a set limit. The final cost goes on the statement.
Move-in and move-out, room by room
Photo reports for every room, locked once saved. The tenant checks the report and can add a note — the record for when the bond is returned.

Owner statements show rent and repair costs with AUD and NZD at the rate on the day each payment landed. Family anywhere can pay a renter's rent from a link they send by WhatsApp.
Self-drive or with a driver
Cars, utes and 4WDs — some come with the owner's own driver. The car is held for two hours while you pay, condition photos protect both sides, and renters rate every trip.
Held safely, settled fairly
Owners can ask for a bond of up to 5 days' hire. It is paid with the hire and held by BM Pay — or in cash at pickup if the owner allows — and comes back to the renter's BM Wallet after the trip unless damage is agreed. BM decides any dispute.

Rentim shares its login, payments and wallet with every Blockchain Melanesia app, and is the first app that ran live on BM Pay.
- Blockchain Melanesia is working with the Bank of Papua New Guinea to secure its e-money licence for the BM wallet.
- Payments run through BM Pay: BSP Pay with CIF and mobile OTP, or a Visa or Mastercard on the bank's own secure page — card numbers never touch Rentim.
- Rent amounts are decided by the lease on the server — a phone can never send a different amount.
- Bonds are recorded against the lease, and car bonds are held by BM Pay until both sides agree — so their return is never in dispute.
- Your phone number is your ID: one-time codes on WhatsApp (SMS if WhatsApp cannot reach you), no passwords, the same BM ID in every BM app.

Is Rentim live?
It is in pilot with a small group of landlords and tenants in Port Moresby. Payments are real payments through BM Pay; listings are being added as the pilot grows. The app works in English and Tok Pisin.
What does it cost?
Listing is free and renters pay the price shown. Rent paid in the app carries a 2.5% BM Pay fee, taken from the landlord's share; cash rent is free. On car hire Rentim keeps 17.5% of the hire from the owner's share. Bonds are never charged a fee.
Can family overseas pay my rent?
Yes. From My home, send your pay link by WhatsApp or Facebook. They open it, see who and what it is for, and pay by card or BSP Pay — it lands on your rent account with a receipt.
Can I hire a car with a driver?
Yes, where the owner offers one, and some cars only go out with their own driver — you do not need a licence for those. Drivers shown as verified have had their licence checked by BM.
What does the Insured badge mean?
The vehicle's owner has a current insurance statement on file with Rentim, and the badge shows the date the policy runs to. The cover itself is between the owner and their insurer, not Rentim — ask the owner what it covers before you drive.
Do I have to pay a bond for a car?
Only if the owner sets one (at most 5 days' hire), and you see it before you book. It is paid with the hire and held by BM Pay (or in cash at pickup, if the owner allows). After the trip the owner has 24 hours to report damage; you can agree or dispute it, and BM decides. Otherwise it all comes back to your BM Wallet.
How does the landlord get paid?
Payments collect in the landlord's BM Pay balance. Add your bank account in the app (Money → Get paid to my bank); once BM staff have checked it, your balance is paid out to it.
